At Gatton Kindy, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every child is at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children feel secure, respected, and valued. We have zero tolerance for child abuse or harm and fully comply with all requirements under the National Quality Framework to ensure the highest standards of care.

We operate in line with the National Quality Standard (NQS), particularly:

  • Quality Area 2 – Children’s Health and Safety

  • Quality Area 4 – Staffing Arrangements

  • Quality Area 7 – Governance and Leadership

Our Commitment to Child Safety

All staff at Gatton Kindy are committed to protecting children and young people from harm and promoting their safety, dignity, and wellbeing.

We are guided by the principles of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, ensuring that child safety is embedded in our culture, policies, and everyday practice.

All educators are mandatory reporters, meaning any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing are reported promptly to the appropriate authority in line with legislation.

All staff and volunteers hold a valid Working With Children Check (Blue Card in Queensland) and are carefully screened as part of our recruitment process.

All staff also maintain up-to-date mandatory Child Protection Training, ensuring they understand their legal responsibilities and best-practice child safety procedures.

How We Keep Children Safe

We maintain a range of policies and procedures to ensure children are always protected and supported, including:
